Nectar guard tips
I have been recommending our nectar port covers to every customer looking at our hummingbird feeders, cautioning them that wasps and yellow jackets can get into the feeder through the nectar ports, giving them a chance to attack the feeder owner, kiddies, or pets. Last summer while working in my garden, I was swarmed by yellow jackets...very painful, caused swelling for days on my arms and legs where they'd stung me. It's good to offer our customers something that can help them avoid possible injury while putting out this sweet feed.

Fundamental Squirrel Proof Feeder
I've had 3 of these feeders in my yard for as long as I've been feeding the birds. They work perfectly to deter the squirrels and have a great capacity for seed. In addition the feeder can be hung from a tree, making it a perfect option for people with yards too small to properly squirrel proof a pole system

Hot Pepper Super Suet
Great way to get the birds extra protein (from mealworms!) and fat while keeping squirrels away. I've had Downy Woodpeckers and Nuthatches as regular feeder visitors who LOVE this suet.

The Backyard Bird Chronicles - Amy Tan
Amy Tan’s The Backyard Bird Chronicles is a beautifully crafted blend of memoir, naturalist notebook, and artistic exploration. What begins as Tan’s search for calm during a period of social tension and personal distress evolves into a moving record of curiosity, resilience, and rediscovery. Through daily observations of the birds visiting her California backyard, she uncovers not just the rhythms of the natural world but also a renewed sense of wonder and grounding. Her entries—paired with her own expressive sketches—capture everything from the quirky personalities of scrub jays to the fleeting grace of warblers, all rendered with humor, tenderness, and a keen eye for detail.

Woodpecker Delight Feeder
I love this feeder because it is an all in one feeder to feed the woodpeckers and many small song birds. I love being able to add bark butter right on the sides of this feeder, along with suet on the bottom and seed on the inside. I also love that I can mount this feeder many different ways from on a pole to off a fence.

Lizzie Mae's BUGS, NUTS AND BERRIES SEED CYLINDER
Downy Woodpeckers visited my feeding station for the first time in four years after I put out a Bugs, Nuts and Berries Cylinder. They love to cling to the side and peck out the meal worms for extended periods of time. Great buy, great food, great entertainment... and the Flickers love it, too.
